Welcome to
DMACC
Libraries Online Des Moines Area Community College |
The DMACC libraries are participants in Iowa's Open Access Program. This State Library-subsidized program allows a person with a card from a participating library to check out books from any other participating library in the state.
Most public libraries in Iowa are participants. The Grand View College and Simpson College libraries also participate. Drake University and the three state universities do not.
Each participating library has its own method for checking out books to Open Access borrowers. Many, including the DMACC libraries, issue library cards that will work on their circulation system.
To get a card as an Open Access borrower, you will need to show a library card from a participating library, or identification that shows you are enrolled at a participating academic institution or live in a participating public library's community. At the DMACC libraries, you will be asked to fill out a brief application form to be issued one of our cards.
